Concrete slab. Four foot module, glazed timber frames, vertical timber infill. Non-load bearing internal stud walls lined with V jointed leather-patterned tempered masonite. Brick chimney. Low pitched stramit ceiling, supported on exposed dressed oregon beams. Roof malthoid and creek gravel replaced with Klip-Lock steel sheeting.

This was the prototype for the many houses designed and built over the next eight years.
The shadowed section on the left was the drafting office which was added later. It incorporated the the flywire enclosed sleepout shown on the plan
Alistair credited his then foreman, Hermann Sibbell, with the idea of the central beam running the length of the house that supported the rafters and Stramit roof.
